Coe College is ranked nationally as a leading liberal arts school and is only a 1.5 hour drive from Davenport and a 2-hour trip from Des Moines.

Mark Murphy, who recently completed his 9th season as Associate Head Tennis Coach at Coe College, will direct this adidas Tennis Camp. The Muscatine, Iowa native has helped build one of the best Division III tennis programs in the country. The men's team has won an impressive six consecutive conference titles, with each title resulting in a trip to the NCAA tournament. The women's program won its first IIAC title this fall after a very successful 2nd place finish in 2005. The Coe Women's Team will participate in their first NCAA tournament in the spring of 2007.

In addition to coaching tennis at Coe, Mark is still active in tennis and is an avid squash player. He became a certified USPTA tennis professional in 2002 and has been teaching tennis for five years. He has an excellent record with the USTA as well. Coach Murphy has been the assistant coach for the Iowa Competition Training Center (CTC) for three years. The Iowa division is one of the founding CTC's dating back to 1988. The CTC program is part of the USTA High Performance division dedicated to the development of the country's best young tennis players from 10-13 years old. Also in 2006, Mark was voted as the Most Outstanding Contributor to Junior Tennis in Iowa.

Coach Murphy graduated from Coe in 1998 with a B.A. in Business Administration and Political Science. He lettered three seasons and was part of two Midwest Conference titles under Coe's current and winningest coach, Eric Rodgers.

Coe Head Men's and Women's Coach, since 1989, Eric Rodgers will also be apart of the camp. Coach Rodgers came to Coe from Division I Evansville where he captured two Midwestern Collegiate Conference Titles and was twice named the Coach of the Year. He was also named the Regional Coach of the Year at Coe in 1993. In his 25 years of coaching and playing at the prep and collegiate level, Eric has recorded 17 conference titles and has coached 10 Academic All-Americans and 5 Tennis All-Americans.

Coach Rodgers played and graduated from Kalamazoo College where he was a four-year letterman, a captain, and also apart of two NCAA Championship squads.

Evening activites at camp will include:

  • Movie night
  • Racquet Ball and Squash game night
  • Swim party
  • Table Tennis Tournament

Campers will be training at the Coe varsity tennis complex, which consists of 6 outdoor courts and 4 indoor.
