Caribbean - St. Lucia Tennis Camp

adidas Caribbean aims to give each participant an amazing summer in a mature teen environment that promotes strong values, group cooperation, and inspires each camper to get the most out of this unique tennis/travel/community service experience.

On the tennis courts, each participant will have the opportunity to work on his or her own game through intense stroke production, fitness, and match play.  Also, every participant will receive instruction on how to teach tennis (i.e. introducing a stroke to a beginner, fine-tuning a stroke, proper feeding technique, organizing a group, planning a group lesson, running a drill, warm-up, fitness exercises, cool-down, how to have and inspire fun on the court). 

In addition, each participant will have a chance to utilize and practice these teaching skills by being an instructor at a free tennis camp for local St. Lucians ages 7-15 who would otherwise have no access to the game.  It’s also a great way to gain experience for a future job teaching tennis privately or in a camp environment.

At Morgan Bay Beach Resort, each participant will have an opportunity to enjoy the lush beauty of a very safe, upscale Caribbean island while having access to all the amenities of any guest, including free, supervised use of all water sports equipment, the fitness center, swimming pools, and the very safe, private beach.  In addition, this four star resort has air-conditioned rooms and its own tennis facility.  There will be one half-day island excursion during the week.  A full time nurse is on duty and the modern capital city of Castries is just minutes away.  For more resort information, visit http://www.MorganBayResort.com/

Within the community service program, each participant will have the opportunity to give back to the local community, make new friends, earn community service hour credit, and have the best of a non-tourist, cultural exchange…all while introducing a game for a lifetime to kids who wouldn’t normally be able to play.  What each participant does will be specific to his or her skills and abilities, from organizing groups and drills to ball feeding and stroke production.  For this project, adidas Caribbean is working directly with the St. Lucia Ministry of Youth and Sports.  Letters will be presented to each participant, noting the number of hours each individual is involved with the free tennis camp for the St. Lucians.
